Up for auction is this original Britains Ltd. # 9726 American Civil War Field Piece in original plastic. Produced in 1971, this item is antique and long out of production. The model represents a Napoleon 12 pdr. gun-howitzer, a bronze smooth-bore gun that was popular with both sides because it was reliable and versatile. Like new condition. Model is made of metal and hard plastic components. Elevation crank works, "firing" spring mechanism may be out of order. Very nice display box in good shape, one end flap has a tear which is mended with tape. Small tear in simulated stone wall and on rear box graphics. One handspike and one rammer staff included, as is an original sealed bag of simulated ammunition in 2 types.  Approximate gun dimensions 4 1/4" L, 3" W, 2" H. This particular example was purchased at a PX in Germany c. 1971 by a long-retired soldier.  This is the original British-made high quality early production. Please see photographs for more details.
