They are covered in 100% untreated natural sisal rope. The rope is strong/durable and gives your cats a safe place to sink their claws into. Each step only weighs 2 pounds, but they are strong enough to handle the biggest house cats running on them day after day.
    Each step is 9" long and 4.25" across and 13.25" in circumference, giving your cat lots of room to climb and play. Need a custom length? Let us know, and we can make it for you.
    The steps are made with a sturdy 5/16" in diameter lag bolt. Installation is a breeze; locate a wall stud using a stud finder and pre-drill a 7/32" hole into the stud. Place the lag bolt Into the pre-drilled hole and turn the post clockwise until tight to the wall. The only tools you need are a drill and a 7/32" drill bit for the pilot hole. The post is made to be secured into the wood beams behind your drywall.
