Shackman Vintage Empress Josephine Completed Bisque & Cloth Doll Kit. I believe this kit doll was produced in the 1970s. It was purchased by my late mother-in-law already completed but I don't know where. It was stored away in her smoke-free home for 10 years or more. The doll is about 15 inches tall.
The real Josephine barely escaped the guillotine so perhaps that is why this doll missing a thumb? At any rate, it was a clean cut. She has a few black spots on her leg, I think they are from manufacturing. Her cloth body and upper arm on one side are somewhat discolored but there is no odor. There is a very tiny chip (about the size of a flea) from the back of one black shoe but it probably would be easy to paint. It is so small I couldn't get a decent picture of it.
